A growing patchwork created over a fortnight, using my daughter’s newborn fabrics paired with blank canvas to create a layered work which combines the formal elements of a tapestry and patchwork quilt. The work uses exposed embroidery with ‘half-finished’ elements in reference to the notion ‘a woman’s work is never done’. Embroidered are the unsolicited opinions, advice, comments and language given to me in the earliest stages of motherhood.
