Each book emulates the format of a diary, consisting of a week's worth of dated entries, in which I recorded three daily conversations with my child.

The work focuses on a process of selection, evaluating the value of our daily conversations- evocative of the valuation process of archiving documents. The work alludes to the value of the 'everyday', documenting the often unnoticed details of childhood development. The child's voice is empowered, and presented in tandem to the adult's perspective through the pairing of transcripts and child drawings. Handwriting these transcripts aligns the adult with the child's approach, applying pen directly to paper.
